this is a pretty strong image. I like the effect you used to blur the girl with pockets of her lace showing through. I have to say the noose is quite menacing though!! but thats what makes it so strong. The quote is a very powerful one too from a great book. thank you so much for using my stock!

At first I thought the noose was out of place, but I loved the idea of a castle in the background (the castle being a place of protection) and the noose being right outside. And yes you're right, "The Book of Pleasure" is IMHO Spare's best. Thanks so much once again for the fave and the stock!!

AUSTIN OSMAN SPARE (1886-1856) Created "Chaos Magic", if it can be called magic. He had a ho hum career as an artist and writer. His paintings were so dark, full of grotesque things and occult symbols that they turned most people off. As a result, he sold very few paintings. If it weren’t for occultists, his works would be completely forgotten. He did a brief stint in the British Army during WWI as an illustrator. In the 1920's he returned to South London where he lived in poverty in a small basement flat. He eeked out a living drawing portraits of people in the local pubs and selling them for small amounts of money. Like most occultists, he died broke. If he knew so much about magic, why could he not use it to create a better life for himself?
